We’re seeing the same thing now and here’s why.

Do you remember when hair extensions used to have such a bad reputation?

People would say they rip your hair out. That they cause breakage. That they’re damaging. But really, it wasn’t always the extensions – it was the way they were fitted. The lack of training. The rush to apply them without fully understanding the client’s hair or scalp.

Now? We know better. The industry grew, education got better, and the right techniques changed everything. And now… it feels like we’re watching the same thing happen with mesh hair systems.

It’s not that the method is wrong with hair extensions – it’s that the education is often incomplete

Clients are struggling to look after their hair systems. Stylists are doing their best with what they’ve been taught. But in many cases, the teaching hasn’t gone far enough – not for the stylist, and definitely not for the client.

They might know how to fit a lace or mesh integration system beautifully – but no one taught them how to prepare the client properly. Or how to explain the aftercare in a way that sticks. Or how to adapt the fitting to suit a real person’s scalp, lifestyle, and comfort level.

And the truth is, when education doesn’t go far enough, the client ends up feeling confused – even if the stylist’s intention was good.

Clients need more than a beautiful fitting

With hair extensions and hair systems they need to know:

  • How often to wash it

  • How to actually wash it

  • Which products are safe to use

  • What not to do (and why)

  • How to ask for help without feeling like they’ve failed

So often, we hear women say things like:

“I was scared to touch it in case it came off.”

“No one told me how to dry it properly.”

“I thought I was doing it right, but now it’s a mess.”

And that’s not their fault. It’s not even always the stylist’s fault. It’s the gap in the education.

We don’t just fit hair systems and hair extensions. We help you understand it, live in it, and feel confident in it every day.

That means:

  • Clear, kind aftercare advice (no jargon)

  • Gentle check-ins if you’re unsure

  • Making sure the system suits your real life not just the photo

  • Creating a plan that supports your scalp, your routine, and your confidence

Because once you feel supported, everything becomes easier.

This isn’t about blame it’s about awareness.

The hair world has evolved before, and it can do it again. We’ve already seen it with extensions.

Now it’s time for hair systems to follow the same path with care, with honesty, and with the right knowledge behind it.
